Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 Installation Guide
If you are an experienced user, read the Quick Setup Guide right below, if you are an inexperienced user, read carefully the Full Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 Installation Guide that follows.
Quick Setup Guide
1. Load/attach the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 onto a chart (any chart will do) and click the Allow live trading (or Allow Algo Trading in MT5) and Allow modification of Signals settings in the EA’s Common tab.
2. If you are going to use the Self Copier option in order to multiply the lot size of your signal subscription’s trades onto the same trading account, click the Inputs tab of the EA and in the first Account Mode setting, choose: Self Copier.
3. If you don’t want to multiply your signal subscription’s trades, but you simply want to copy your trades from one or more trading accounts to one or more trading accounts of yours between local MT4/5 terminals (on the same Windows computer or Windows VPS), simply choose the Transmitter or Receiver role for the trading account that you’ve loaded the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 onto, in the Account Mode field.
If the trading account that you’ve loaded the EA onto is the Transmitter account, you don’t need to put anything in the Transmitter Account Number field, but if this is the Receiver account you need to fill in the Transmitter Account Number in that field. If the Transmitter Accounts are more than one, you need to put their number in that field of the Receiver account settings, separated by commas. For example if your Receiver account will receive/copy trades from 2 Transmitter accounts, you should put their account numbers, separated by a comma: 123456,654321
4. In the Lot Size Management section you choose the way your copied trades will be copied onto your Receiver account. If you leave None in the Lot Size Type field, no copying/multiplying will take place.
If you choose Fixed Lot, your copied trades will have the same Fixed size lot size, entered below in the Fixed Lot Size field.
If you choose Multiplier, your copied trades will be multiplied in size by the number of times you will enter below in the Multiplier field. For example if you put 2 it means that the EA will copy a transmitter account trade onto a receiver account, with double the size of the original trade. So if the original trade in your transmitter account was 0.10 lots the copied trade onto the receiver account will be 0.20 lots. If you want a smaller 0.05 lot trade to be copied onto your receiver account you should put 0.5 in the Multiplier field.
If you choose Proportional, the lot size of your copied trades onto your receiver account(s), will have a proportional size to the receiver accounts’ balance. For example if your transmitter account is $2000, your receiver account is $4000 and a 0.10 lots trade is opened on the transmitter account, will be copied as a 0.20 lots trade onto the receiver.
5. If you leave the rest of the settings as they are, your copied trades opened by Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 onto the receiver account(s), will be closed instantly when the original transmitter account(s) trades are closed. For more details on the Inputs/Settings of the EA, read the Settings/Inputs file carefully: https://www.mql5.com/en/blogs/post/745681
6. Then if you want to add the maximum protection for your receiver account(s), go to the Emergency Trade Management section and put the Use Emergency Account Protection to true and enter below the Equity level of your account, that you would like the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 to close all open trades and disable copying onto the receiver account, in order to save your trading account from any further losses. When you finish with this parameter, adjust any other settings you want and click OK.
7. If you are going to use the Self Copier option in order to multiply the lot size of your signal subscription’s trades onto the same trading account, open the MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Signals tab, adjust the settings of your signal subscription and click OK.
8. At the end and only if you use the Self Copier option of the Local Trade Copier EA (the copying options between different MT4/5 terminals are not MQL5 VPS compatible), go to your MQL5 VPS at the Navigator window and right click >> Synchronize experts, indicators and signal and you are finished with your setup. You can check the MQL5 VPS >> (right click) Journal to see that everything was synchronized correctly.
WARNING: After you've synchronized your trading environment with your MQL5 VPS, you DO NOT NEED TO CLICK THE AUTO (ALGO) TRADING BUTTON AGAIN in your local MT4/5 terminal, because if you do, you will trade with your Expert Advisor twice and that is very dangerous!
Also you DO NOT TICK AGAIN the: Enable realtime signal subscription option in your local computer’s MT4/5 platform, because that way you will copy the signal twice and this is extremely dangerous!
A last thing you must know if you use the Self Copier option of the Local trade Copier EA is that every time you need to make an adjustment in either your Signal subscription or your Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5, you must tick the: Enable realtime signal subscription in your local terminal’s Signals tab and click the Auto (Algo) Trading button in your MT4/5 terminal with your Signal Multiplier EA MT4/5 attached to a chart with your desired settings and then synchronize/migrate with your MQL5 VPS once again, for these updated settings to take effect and start working in the virtual server.

So, open any MT4/5 terminal and any chart of any symbol at any timeframe and then from the left side of your MT4/5 terminal, in the Navigator window, find your purchased Expert Advisor from within the Market options and drag it onto the chart (or double click it).
13. The Expert Advisor's settings window will open. In the MT4 terminal you click the Allowlive trading option and the Allow modification of Signals settings on the Common tab and click OK. In the MT5 terminal you tick the Allow modification of Signals settings and the Allow Algo Trading options and click OK.
14. If you are going to use the Self Copier option in order to multiply the lot size of your signal subscription’s trades onto the same trading account, click the Inputs tab of the Local Trade Copier EA and in the first Account Mode setting, choose: Self Copier.
17. If you leave the rest of the settings as they are, your copied trades opened by Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 onto the receiver account(s), will be closed instantly when the original transmitter account(s) trades are closed. For more details on the Inputs/Settings of the EA, read the Inputs file carefully: https://www.mql5.com/en/blogs/post/745681
19. After you've closed the Expert Advisor's window, you will see that there is a sad face (or a red sign in MT5) on the top right of your chart. That means that your EA does not trade yet. You need to click the Auto (Algo) Trading button and instantly the sad face will smile (the red sign will turn green in MT5). Now your Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 is working and you can see the trades of Transmitter account(s) being copied to Receiver account(s), according to your settings and requirements.
Further Instructions for the Self Copier option
20. In order for the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 to monitor and copy/multiply your signal subscription’s copied trades, you need to set up your Signal’s subscription settings too. If you haven’t subscribed to your prefered signal yet, you can follow the following instructions in order to do so:
How to Subscribe to MQL5.com Signal
https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/189731 (MT4)
https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/336422 (MT5)
ATTENTION: Make sure that you don’t synchronize your signal subscription to your MQL5 VPS, unless you have set up Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 too. That means that if you want your signal subscription and your Signal Multiplier EA MT4/5 to work together, you must synchronize/migrate them together to your MQL5 VPS. The procedure is described in the steps below.
21. Open the MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Signals tab, adjust the settings of your signal subscription and click OK.
22. The only thing that remains to do is to make sure that you will not suffer any power or network disruptions and that can be accomplished by employing a MQL5 VPS (virtual private server), in order to have your Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 trading on the cloud 24/7 around the clock.
23. If you haven't purchased yourself a virtual server for your trading account, you right click on your account number in the Navigator window and you choose >> Register a Virtual Server.
24. In the Virtual Hosting Wizard window that opens, you choose the plan that suits you and click the Next button.
25. Then you complete your payment. I suggest having the necessary funds available in your MQL5 account and use the MQL5 method of payment on the left.
26. After you've completed your MQL5 VPS purchase, you need to synchronize your trading environment with your virtual server. You right click on the MQL5 VPS in the Navigator window and choose >> Synchronize experts, indicators and signal, in order to synchronize both your Signal subscription’s settings and your Signal Multiplier EA MT4/5 to your MQL5 VPS.
27. After a few seconds, the smiling face of your Expert Advisor will turn sad again (and the green sign will turn red again in MT5) and the Auto (Algo) Trading button will be turned off. Also the: Enable realtime signal subscription option in the Signals settings will be unticked. That means that your trading environment was successfully synchronized with your MQL5 VPS.
28. In order to make sure that your synchronization was successful, you need to check the MQL5 VPS Journal logs. You right click on your MQL5 VPS in the Navigator window >> Journals.
29. In your MQL5 VPS's Journals logs, you need to look for the below message: 1 Chart, 1 EA, 0 custom indicators, signal enabled, last known ping to .... is ... ms.
30. That means that your Expert Advisor and your Signal Subscription were successfully synchronized/migrated and now trade in the cloud environment.
31. Now you can close your MT4/5 terminal and computer and be assured that your Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 and your Signal Subscription will trade 24/7 without any problems or interruptions.
32. The only thing you need to do every day or two, is to check your MQL5 VPS Journal, in order to make sure that everything runs smoothly.
